Reeltone is a native iPhone music player for your own Jellyfin server: background playback, offline downloads, lock-screen controls, AirPlay, and synced lyrics.

Getting started

• You need a Jellyfin server (free, self-hosted — see jellyfin.org) and an account on it. For lyrics, Jellyfin 10.9+ is recommended.
• Open Reeltone and enter your server address (e.g. http://192.168.1.10:8096 or https://media.example.com). Tap Connect.
• Sign in with your Jellyfin username and password.
• Browse the Library tab, tap a track to play, and tap the mini-player to open the full player.

FAQ

Does music keep playing when I lock my phone?

Yes — true background audio is the whole point. Playback continues when you leave the app or lock the screen, with controls on the lock screen and in Control Center.

Where do lyrics come from?

First from your Jellyfin server (embedded tags, .lrc files, or a plugin such as LrcLib). If the server has none, Reeltone fetches them from the public LRCLIB service and shows a small "LYRICS: LRCLIB" note. Install the LrcLib plugin on your server for the best coverage.

Can I listen offline?

Yes. Tap the download button on a track or album, then play it later with no connection.

My server is plain HTTP / on my LAN / on a VPN. Does that work?

Yes. Reeltone supports plain-HTTP servers, local IP addresses, .local names, and VPN/tailnet hosts.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Reeltone has no servers of its own and collects nothing. See the Privacy Policy.

Is this an official Jellyfin app?

No. Reeltone is an independent client, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Jellyfin project.
